The intention of Kristal Serritiello was to fix a few bugs in the customer portal and administrator portal. The client also needs to add new functionality to the customer website and the administrator portal. The requirements of Gwvalve was:
- Access request issues in the customer portal
- Customer access requests on the administrator portal
- The issue in populating the contact details of the customer
- The issue in downloading the reports in the administrator portal
- The issue in receiving access request emails by the administrator
- Customers can reset the password by themselves
- The administrator can delete the user from the edit contact page.
Understanding the issues we made some fixes in the portals and added features they requested.
- Forgot Password
The customer login page will have a “forgot password” button. This feature will replace the current manual process that requires manual administrator approval to send a password reset.
2. Access Requests
Customers will receive a verification email upon successful completion of the access request process.
1. Access Request/Customer Association
The administrator can manage customer access requests from the administration panel. The customer contact number can be associated with a company entry and the system will show this number at the top of the list of customer numbers, as it functioned previously. The association of the customer number and account will be completed and a success message will be displayed for administrator confirmation.
2. Edit Contact Functionality
The Administrator can search for contact details by entering the email address in the search box. Contact details like the first name, last name, and password will be populated. Administrators can edit those contact details and after editing, they can save the details. New functionality to delete a user will be implemented on this page. As deleting the data may cause null values in reports, the entries will not be completely removed from the database. Instead, they will be removed from the list of active entries seen on the platform.
3. Downloading Reports
A checkbox is provided against each report. Selecting checkboxes against multiple reports and clicking the “download report” button will allow the user to download the selected reports alone. Although only a single report is downloaded after selecting multiple reports, this issue will be tested and corrected.
