Closest Closet is a platform that allows users to trade clothing and other garments online. Their existing platform is built upon WordPress. While it fulfills the needs of the value proposition, various areas are in need of further customization.
Closest Closet is an online platform for items in users closets that no longer add to their wardrobe, but will be fresh and new to another Closest Closet user. As users post items from their closet and other users will have a space to add fresh and new items from a vast network of closets available on the platform.
How does the Closest Closet work?
Closest Closet enables you to create infinite closet using your items as currency. Closest Closet is a circular marketplace for fashion where members use their items as currency. The platform works in three simple steps and the following are those: “Show It Off, Be Rewarded, and Shop Your Friends’ Closets”
Show It Off – If an item no longer works in your closet, take a picture of the item and upload it to your online closet.
Be Rewarded – The items users upload will earn a hanger that can be redeemed for items that complement unique style.
Shop Friend’s Closet – Users can use the hangers earned to redeem clothing in other networks of closets. Users can expand their wardrobe by selecting items from friends’ and their friends’ closets for free! Only pay for shipping or arrange local pickup at checkout.

When users post items from their closet they will open up space to add fresh and new items from their vast network of closets.
Shopping – Earn Hangers Now
When a user uploads any item they will earn one hanger. The hanger can be used to shop items from other member’s closets. Every hanger user gets can be redeemed to purchase. The membership fee gains access to shop items on Closest Closet.

Shipping or Pickup – Shop Closets Now
Once the user places an order, the closet owner will receive a shipping label to mail the user. Users can select local pick up at the time of checkout if the item is local.
- Item doesn’t fit- no problem. Repost the item and earn a hanger
- The more you donate, the more you can shop

Overview of Feature Enhancements
My Closet Administrator
Once users have successfully logged into the platform, they will be presented with listed products and featured sellers on the home page.
My Closet is the area that will allow users to act as a vendor or store owner. This page is enriched with a header, closet name and image, closet owner profile details, shop section, listed products, closer owner location and rating, and account settings area.
Each closet owner has an administration area that will allow them to administer their account, products, and activity of their closet. This area will provide users with the ability to edit the account settings of their store, inventory management, and profile. The following items can be accessed from the account settings:
- Add Item
- Edit Closet Profile
- My Orders
- My Purchases
- My Items Posted
- My Membership
- Refer A Friend
- My Friends
- My Groups
- Messages
- Logout
The platform allows users to manage the listed products while the mouse hover event performs. They can delete or edit or duplicate the item with a single click.
Users can choose to edit their basic store information. The details will be collected during registration and can be editable in this area.
Shipping Enhancements
Shipping enhancements aim to connect users with multiple shipping carriers to find competitive and reasonable options. Shippo’s shipping API will be integrated.
Users can find the shipping options when they decide to buy a product from any of the vendors’ closet. The following shipping options are available when they reach the checkout page:
- FedEx
- USPS
- UPS
- DHL
- Local Pickup Option
Upon selecting a carrier, users can view the estimated delivery date and price for their reference. This feature helps them to choose an appropriate carrier to move forward with the order fulfillment.
- Both buyers and sellers will receive a confirmation email along with the order details.
- Users can also track the status of their order in the My Orders area.
This shipping API enables vendors to connect with a network of carriers in one integration so that they can create labels, and track packages in one place.
Users will receive email notifications on various events like at the time of payment flow, shipping, out of delivery, and delivered.
Vendors will receive an email when a review is submitted about their closet from a buyer. This will be reflected on the “My Closet” page.
Location Product Filter
Users have the ability to shop for products by filtering a specific ZIP code and miles. This feature enhancement helps users to identify the products near their location to do a local pickup. If the product is within 10 miles, the platform encourages users to do local pickup without paying for shipping.
Users can access this filter option from the shop page, the filter will be embedded at the very top of the left filter area for better visibility and user experience. The filter functionality will refine relevant results based on the inputs. The platform will also allow users to select the shipping option as Local Pickup from the checkout page.
Triggered Emails
The platform will send automatic email notifications based on predefined events or conditions met by an individual through certain behaviors, actions, or other signals.
These triggered emails ensure the customers that the platform cares about informing them promptly with the help of a rich user interface. These emails are fired by specific actions taken by the recipient.
