MeKarti is an online marketplace platform that allows artists and artisans to sell various products like artworks, paintings, handicrafts, and other creative products to customers. What is MeKarti?

MeKarti is an online marketplace that helps people from various traditions and ethnicities search for and buy products from their long-forgotten childhood memories. It is an eCommerce platform nestled with nostalgia, where traditional artists and artisans list unique and rare items for buyers all over the world.  

As vendors are brought directly into the platform, MeKarti helps remove third-party merchants and allows these unorganized artists to generate more income. They can also showcase their items to a wider customer base through the website. Some of the major products that MeKarti sells include art, paintings, collectibles, jewelry and accessories, pots, planters, and various craft items. 

How does MeKarti work?

Mekarti comprises a console for the customer, the seller, and the administrator. All three have a separate registration and login sections. The customer and seller applications are responsive, as they are consumer-facing. The administrative console area has been customized based on specific requirements of the Mekarti platform.

Customer Application 

The Mekarti homepage has a section that displays featured products, offers, and pricing. This landing page has category selection links, where customers can search & select their preferred category of products. The user can click on their desired category on the website home page to access the product listing page for that category.

Quick links for the registration of new customers are provided on the home page. The customer redirects to fill up the registration form upon clicking the link. To successfully buy a product and make a payment on the website, users must complete the registration process.

All Mekarti products come with a detailed information page, which the customers can access to learn about the item and its seller. They can add the items to their carts and proceed to payment by logging into the platform. Customers can view the below details of the product on the details page: 

  • Multiple Images of the product
  • Price of the product 
  • Seller Name 
  • Decrease or Increase the number of products 
  • Add to cart button 
  • Proceed to the check out button/Buy Now

The customer has the option to ask for customization of a listed product. This can be done by clicking the ‘Quote Request ‘button on the product details page. If customization is available, they will be provided with a private URL of the customized product by the administrator, which they can ‘add to cart’ and purchase.

Mekarti customers who are logged in can access ‘My Cart’ by clicking the quick link provided on the home page. The cart page will show the list of products that the customer has previously added. The customer can click on any one of the products listed in ‘My Cart,’ which will redirect them to the product details page.

Different payment options are available on Mekarti.com. To complete the payment process, customers can choose a preferred payment gateway, Paypal or Stripe.

The customer can access the order history page by clicking the profile dropdown and selecting the order history button. If the customer has previous orders, they will display them on this page. The order history page will list the products with the information: Order ID, date of purchase, product price, status – shipped or delivered. “Return or Refund” button is placed on each product listed on the order history page. Sellers can manually manage the return and refund policy of the product. Customers can provide reviews and ratings for every product purchased.

Seller Application 

Once an artist is registered successfully with Mekarti, they can log in to the seller’s console. The console provides access to all necessary sections, including ‘add products’ page, ‘reviews & rating’ page, and settings pages.

In the ‘Add New Product’ page, the seller can add new products by providing details like product name and description, images, product id, price and category (paintings, crafts, sculptures). Additional information such as shipping type (paid or free), product status and publish date are also asked for.

A ‘product specification’ page is also provided, where the seller can enter product-related attributes and variant specifications. They can also set product visibility to either public or private while adding the product. When public, the added product will be visible to all customers.

Once all the products are added, they will appear on the ‘My Products’ page. The sellers can search for added products by category, price, and date. They can also add new products by clicking the ‘Add New Product’ button.

Once a Mekarti artist starts getting sales, the console home page displays all the order requests from the customers. The information provided includes order Id, customer Name, order status – pending, canceled, order pick-up status, date and time of order and order amount. The sellers can view customer requests and receive an SMS once a customer places an order. 

Sellers can change the status of the order from the order details page. Once the order is ready, the status can be changed to “shipped”.The seller can track all payment-related information through the ‘Payment History’ section. 

Administrative Console

The Mekarti administrative console is an extensive backend dashboard that lets website owners and their administrators control and access all aspects of the website. It includes a homepage for primary functionality as well as content management and client management areas.

Mekarti Administrators can manage both customers and artists on their platform with the client management console. They can also manage revenue models, accepted categories, subscribers, custom quote requests, and all other settings.
