iScripts GoStores Installation Manual

Prelude

Please read each step of the appropriate instructions before taking the first step. It is always a good idea to backup your data before making any changes to your server / files.

System Requirements

iScripts GoStores runs on a Linux platform that can support a web server and the PHP language.We recommend Apache webserver or any linux server, with php acceptable.

We recommend CentOS or Redhat Linux with Cpanel control panel with reseller WHM access.

a) Linux server should be Cpanel operated.

b) DNS for the main domain name should be handled by the Cpanel server where the product is installed.

c) Apache as web server. 

d) PHP 5.2x or 5.3x.

e) MySQL 4.1.12 or greater.

Other Requirements for Trouble-free Installation/Compatibility are 

f) SendMail - (Yes).

g) PHP safe mode - (OFF).

h) CURL extension - (Yes).

i) Enable Soap in PHP.

j) Enable SSL in Apache.

k) If you are using two different servers to install the GoStores script and hosting the cart, you should open port 2082, 2083, 2086, 2087 and 3306(In TCP).

l) If you upload the "cpanelscriptpath" Perl file from the Windows platform using ftp, you should use ASCII mode ftp transfer.

 iScripts GoStores performs to it’s maximum potential, if your server meets all of the above conditions

Database server host name: It is given as ‘localhost’ in most cases. In all other cases, you can contact your server provider for database host name.

License Key: In the "License key" field, be sure to enter the same license key that you received when you purchased the product. The script only works for the domain for which you are licensed. If you cannot remember the license, it is also included in the email. received with subject: iScripts.com software download link. You can also obtain the license key from your user panel at https://www.iscripts.com

Database name, Database Username & Database password: Create a new database from your cpanel / database manager for iScripts GoStores. Also, create a database user and give full access to the created database.

Site Name: iScripts GoStores automatically uses your domain name as the site name. If you prefer a different name, you can edit it to specify the name you want.

Admin Email: Provide site owner email id.

 

Once you have completed the installation form, press install now.   

 

4. On clicking ‘install now’, iScripts GoStores configures the database and script according to your specification. If the installation is successful, you will be able to view the following:

 

Home URL: http://www.yoursitename.com

Admin URL: http://www.yoursitename.com/admin

Admin Credentials:

Username - ‘admin’

Password - ‘admin’

Note: Make sure you change the admin password as soon as the installation  procedure is complete.  

5. It is strongly recommended to remove the 'write' permission for the file 'project / config / settings.php' for security reasons. Also make sure to delete the “install” folder once the installation is complete.
