iScripts eSwap - Barter Software

Prelude

Please read every step of the relevant instructions before going to the first step. It is always a good idea to backup your data before performing any sort of changes to your server/files. 

System Requirements

Following are the requirements for iScripts eSwap:

1. PHP 5.0- 7.0 (You can get the latest PHP version at https://www.php.net)

2. MySQL >= 5.x

3. Curl Support (In case you are using Authorize.net payment gateway)

4. Open port 1129 (In case you are using First Data payment gateway)

Other Requirements for Trouble-free Installation/Compatibility are: 

1. SendMail - (Yes)

2. PHP safe mode - (OFF)

3. PHP open_basedir - (OFF)

4. CURL extension - (Yes)

Overview iScripts eSwap

 iScripts eSwap is a pwerful multilingual barter exchange network script. It is built with broad features and functions. The users are allowed to list the needed items to swap or to exchange items. The users can create a wishlist if they failed to find items they wanted, it will help other users to fulfill the request.

eSwap barter software supports online payment gateways and offline payment methods. The site administrator can assign the fees of user listings, featured products, transaction, monthly subscription plans and can utilize escrow service. Using the points system, users can purchase items by exchanging points rather than cash or swapping items.

Installation 

Given below are the steps for installing iScripts eSwap in your server. 

 

3.1) Expand the entire contents from eswap.zip to a desired location. Once complete, upload the contents to the desired location using an FTP client. If you do not have an FTP client then you can use CoreFTP or FTPzilla.

 

In most cases, Hosting companies list the browser accessible folder as public_html. All files will be uploaded in this location. For example: http://www.yoursitename.com/public_html/eswap

 

If you require no folder for public browser view, install to the root level or folder of your choice. 

 

3.2) Set 'Write' permission to the following folders (Set folder permission as 777)

 

a) pics

b) images

c) banners

d) help

e) pem

f) pics/profile

g) lang_flags

h) sliders

 

3.3) Provide 'Write' permission for the following file (Set file permission as 777)

 

a) includes/config.php 

3.4) Run the link http://www.yoursitename.com/install in your browser and follow the given below instructions.

When you upload the files in the root (home directory), you can access iScripts eSwap installation wizard at http://www.yoursitename.co. You can also install the script in any directory under the root. 

For example if you have uploaded the zip file in a directory say http://www.yoursitename.com/eswap then you can access iScripts eSwap at http://www.yoursitename.com/eswap. 

 

Now fill the installation form:

Database server host name: It is given as ‘localhost’ in most cases. In all other cases, you can contact your server provider for database host name.

 

License Key: Make sure you enter the same license key you received at the time of purchase,in the "License Key" field. The script would function only for the domain it is licensed. If you cannot recall the license it is also included in the email you received with subject: iScripts.com software download link. You can also get the license key from your user panel at https://www.iscripts.com

 

Database name, Database Username & Database password: Create a new database from your Cpanel/database manager for iScripts eSwap. Also create a database user and provide full access to the database created. 

 

Site Name: iScripts eSwap automatically grabs your domain name as site name. If you prefer a different name, you can edit to provide a desired name.

 

Admin Email: Provide site owner email id.

 

Once you have completed the installation form, press install now. 

3.5) On clicking ‘install now’, iScripts eSwap configures the database and script according to your specification. If the installation is successful, you will be able to view the following:

 

Home URL: http://www.yoursitename.com

Admin URL: http://www.yoursitename.com/admin

Admin Credentials:

Username - ‘admin’

Password - ‘admin’

Note: Make sure you change the admin password as soon as the installation procedure is complete. 

 

3.6) It is strongly recommended to remove the 'Write' permission provided to the file 'includes/config.php' for security reasons . Also make sure that you delete 'install' folder once installation is complete
