iScripts EasyIndex Business Directory Script
Prelude
Please read each step of the relevant instructions before undertaking the first step. It is always a good idea to backup your data before performing any sort of changes to your server/files.
System Requirements
iScripts EasyIndex runs equally well on Linux,
We recommend Apache webserver or any linux server, with php acceptable
For the best performance server have to meet the following requirements.
a) PHP 5.2x or 5.3x
b) MySQL Community Server 4.1 or greater
Other Requirements for Trouble-free Installation/Compatibility are:
c) Send Mail - (Yes).
d) PHP safe mode - (OFF).
e) PHP open_basedir - (OFF)

Overview iScripts EasyIndex
iScripts EasyIndex is a business directory script that helps to create a classifieds website effortlessly. You can create a fast, flexible and user-friendly business directory using the open-source script. EasyIndex is the best software for large and loaded business directories, and small and medium directories.
EasyIndex script is a standalone solution that has all common features of directory sites such as listings, reviews, products, services, inquiries, forums, banners and logos. The script also supports many features and functionalities. You can run the site as free or a paid service by adding an assortment of plans.
Installation
Steps for installing iScripts EasyIndex in your server.
3.1) Unzip the entire contents from easyindex.zip to a desired location. Upload the contents in to your server using a FTP client. You can use CoreFTP or FTP zilla instead of FTPclient.
3.2) Provide FTP details in the field given. This will set the folder permission required for iScripts EasyIndex automatically.
3.3) Provide 'Write' permission for the following files (Set file permission as 777)
a) config/settings.php
b) .easyindex_config.php
3.4) Run this link in your browser - http://www.yoursitename.com/install install and follow the instructions below.
After downloading the file to the root directory (home directory), you can access the iScripts EasyIndex setup wizard on http://www.yoursitename.com .You can also install the script in any directory under the root directory. For example, if you download the zip file to a directory, such as B. http://www.yoursitename.com/EasyIndex, you can download it at http://www.yoursitename.com/EasyIndex.
Now fill in the installation form:
Database server host name: The hostname is given as localhost in most cases. If you need to change the name, you can contact your server manufacturer to obtain a new database.
License Key: In In the License Key field, you must enter the same license key you received at the time of purchase. This script is only available for domains for which you have a license. You have the same subject: iScripts.com software download link. You can also obtain the license key from your user panel at https://www.iscripts.com
Database name, Database Username & Database password: From the database management panel C / create a new database for iScripts EasyIndex. In addition, create a database user and grant full access to the created database.
Site Name: iScripts EasyIndex automatically grabs your domain name as site name. If you prefer a different name, you can edit to provide a new name.
Admin Email: Provide site owner email id.
Once you have completed the installation process, click install now.
3.5) On clicking ‘install now’, iScripts EasyIndex configures the database and script according to your specification. If the installation is successful, you will be able to view the following:
Home URL: http://www.yoursitename.com
Admin URL: http://www.yoursitename.com/admin
Admin Credentials:
Username - ‘admin’
Password - ‘admin’
Note: Make sure you change the admin password as soon as the installation procedure is complete.
3.6) It is strongly recommended to remove the 'Write' permission provided to the file 'config/settings.php' for security reasons . Also make sure that you delete 'install' folder once installation is complete
