{"id":17553,"date":"2023-03-02T10:45:02","date_gmt":"2023-03-02T16:45:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iscripts.com\/blog\/?p=17553"},"modified":"2023-03-02T10:45:02","modified_gmt":"2023-03-02T16:45:02","slug":"6-seo-mistakes-you-must-avoid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iscripts.com\/blog\/6-seo-mistakes-you-must-avoid\/","title":{"rendered":"5 SEO Mistakes You Must Avoid"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is a complex and ever-changing field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are so many different aspects to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iscripts.com\/blog\/what-is-seo-search-engine-optimization-explanation\/\">SEO<\/a> that it can be difficult to keep up with all of the changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This post will provide you with 5 SEO mistakes that you must avoid in order to have a better chance at ranking high on Google&#8217;s search engine results page (SERP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are many SEO mistakes that you can make when marketing your startup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, there are a few that stand out as being more common than others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is my list of the 5 SEO mistakes you must avoid:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"not-having-an-xml-sitemap\">Not having an XML sitemap<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your website does not have a sitemap, it will be more difficult for search engines to crawl your web pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Create an XML Sitemap for your website, and then submit it to Google Search Console.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are using WordPress, or any other CMS there are plugins that will generate a sitemap for you, for example <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/wordpress-seo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yoast SEO<\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/seo-by-rank-math\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RankMath SEO<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"not-using-keywords-in-page-titles-and-content\">Not using keywords in page titles and content<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are not optimizing your content by adding your keywords to it, it is unlikely that you will increase your search engine ranking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Make sure that you add relevant keywords to your content, page titles, headings, image alt tags, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I suggest using an SEO tool that will give you assistance and guidance while optimizing your content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"using-too-many-keywords-on-one-page\">Using too many keywords on one page<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using too many keywords is known as &#8220;keyword spamming&#8221;, or &#8220;keyword stuffing&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is one of the worst things you can do to &#8220;cheat&#8221;
